The bulk upload feature lets marketers add large numbers of locations to a campaign in one step instead of entering them one by one. Marketers can upload locations using a file or by pasting a formatted list, then apply those locations directly to geographic targeting. This approach saves time and helps teams manage complex location strategies with greater accuracy and consistency.
A different articles shows marketers how to manually enter geography targeting locations and POIs.
The new window displays four geographic types: Zip/Postal Code, Latitude & Longitude, Cities, and DMA.
The field shows the proper column format for this geographic type. Create your own file with this format or click the template link to download a pre-formatted file.
The platform checks the validity of the records. If the check finds an error, it displays a message. You can continue the upload without repairing the error (the unvalidated record won't be included in the location list) or stop, fix the validation issue, and upload the file again.
Click the Upload button to complete the task.
The platform adds the records to the Locations list and map.
Choose this method to manually enter (or paste) a list of properly formatted records.
Review the entries on the next page and correct validation errors if noted. If the records are formatted properly, click the Upload button. The platform adds the Locations list and map.
A single bulk upload supports large location sets, but extremely large files (greater than 10,000 records) may require splitting by geography type or region. Marketers should monitor validation feedback and platform performance when uploading very large datasets to avoid partial uploads.
Each bulk upload session supports only one geographic type. Marketers must run separate uploads for ZIP/Postal Codes, Cities, DMAs, or Latitude and Longitude to ensure proper validation and accurate targeting behavior.
Bulk uploaded locations add to the current Locations list rather than automatically removing existing entries. Marketers should review the Locations list after upload to confirm alignment with campaign targeting requirements.
After a successful upload, validated locations appear in both the Locations list and the map view. This visibility allows marketers to confirm coverage and identify gaps or unexpected targeting areas before launch.
