How to select a destination campaign

This article shows marketers how to connect a source campaign to a destination campaign on the Canvas (new experience). A connection defines how audiences move through a journey, which campaigns act as entry points, and which campaigns receive users after a condition is met.

The Canvas offers two ways to create connections, but both produce the same result: a logical flow between campaigns.

Steps to use the drag and drop tool

Use this method when campaign blocks are visible and easy to reach on the Canvas.

Go to the source campaign, which is the starting block. Hover the mouse and click the plus (+) icon. Drag the line to the destination campaign. This method works well if the two campaign blocks are near each other, but that isn't a requirement. You can drag the line to any eligible campaign on the canvas.

Steps to use the Connection block

This method works well when the two campaigns blocks aren't close enough for easy linking.

Hover the source campaign and click—do not drag—the plus (+) icon. The Connection block displays. Click the Add a campaign link. A menu of campaign names displays. Click a name and then click the Canvas to close the block. The Canvas auto-links the source campaign to the destination.

Steps to replace a connection

Use a similar method to replace an existing destination with a different one.

  1. Click a Connection block.
  2. Go to the destination name.
  3. Click the dash to remove the destination from the connection. The menu displays.
  4. Click a campaign name.
  5. Click the Canvas to close the block. The platform auto-connects the source and destination campaigns.

FAQs

How do marketers connect campaigns on the Canvas?

Marketers connect campaigns by linking a source campaign to a destination campaign on the Canvas (new experience). The Canvas supports a drag and drop connector or connections created inside the Connection block. Both methods create the same audience flow.

How does a campaign connection affect audience movement?

A campaign connection controls how audiences move through a campaign. The source campaign acts as an entry point with one or more destination campaigns that receive users who meet the defined condition(s).

How do marketers replace an existing campaign connection?

Marketers replace a connection by editing the Connection block. The destination campaign is removed, a new campaign is selected, and the Canvas applies the updated link automatically.
