Set dayparting on the Canvas (new experience)

Use daypart targeting to choose specific days and times when your audience is most active. The default setting runs ads 24/7, but you can switch to a custom schedule to focus delivery and improve performance.

Note, you cannot adjust schedules for Programmatic Guaranteed deals because they are controlled at the deal level.

Steps to open a campaign

  1. Open a campaign on the Canvas (new experience).
  2. Go to the top of the canvas and confirm the New experience toggle is switched on.
  3. Click the campaign block. A new window displays.
  4. Click the Budget & goals tab.
  5. Scroll down to the Daypart targeting heading.
🟦  The New experience toggle is hidden for illumin clients who joined after August 25, 2025.

Steps to configure daypart ranges

The default setting is Run ads all the time (24-7).

  1. To enable a custom setting, click the Run ads with daypart targeting card.
  2. Drag on the grid to set active time blocks.
  3. Click the Save button.

Note, all times are Eastern Time.

FAQs

How does dayparting work on the Canvas?

Dayparting controls when ads serve by day and time on the Canvas. Marketers switch from the default 24-7 delivery to a custom schedule and select time blocks on a grid. The system applies these limits to eligible tactics to focus delivery during high activity periods.

Where do marketers find dayparting settings in a Canvas campaign?

Dayparting settings live in the Budget & goals tab of a Canvas campaign. Marketers open the campaign, select the campaign block, and scroll to the Daypart targeting section. This location centralizes delivery controls alongside pacing and budget configuration.

Why does a campaign still run 24-7 after dayparting setup?

A campaign runs 24-7 when the default setting remains active or when changes are not saved. Marketers must select the Run ads with daypart targeting option, define active time blocks, and save. Programmatic guaranteed deals also ignore Canvas schedules.

Can marketers change dayparting for programmatic guaranteed deals?

Dayparting does not apply to programmatic guaranteed deals. These deals use schedules that exist at the deal level, not the Canvas. Marketers must adjust timing with the publisher or deal owner rather than through campaign settings.

What time zone does Canvas dayparting use?

Canvas dayparting uses Eastern Time for all schedules. Marketers should convert local business hours into Eastern Time before selecting time blocks. This approach ensures consistent delivery across accounts and regions.
