Overview
illumin Audio Insights helps marketers identify missed auction opportunities caused by missing audio spot lengths in a live campaign. The tool analyzes live auction data and recommends spot durations that may expand auction access.
Important notes
illumin Audio Insights uses forecast data to estimate the number of winnable impressions for each suggested spot length. These estimates are based on projected winning bids. Keep in mind that adding new spot lengths can expand access to auctions, but it does not guarantee an increase in auction wins or overall performance.
Prerequisites
- Access to illumin.
- A live campaign on the Canvas (new experience).
- At least one tactic with audio creatives.
- Permissions to view and edit campaign creatives.
Steps to display insights
- Open a campaign on the Canvas (new experience).
- Click the campaign block. A new window displays.
- Go to the left menu.
- Expand the campaign folder.
- Select a tactic.
- Click the Creatives tab. If insights are available, the right-hand panel displays a bar graph and a list of suggested spot lengths.

Understand the bar graph
- Review the light purple section of the bar. The light purple section represents projected winnable impressions based on the current creative mix.
- Review the dark purple section of the bar. The dark purple section represents projected additional impressions if all suggested spot lengths are added.
About the projections
The projected number of winnable impressions is dynamic. That number changes if there are adjustments to the creative mix, targeting settings, or remaining flight time.
- As the campaign moves closer to the end of the flight, the number of opportunities to win bids decreases, as does the number of chances to serve impressions.
- If you change the campaign parameters, like audience or the targeting mix (e.g. increase or decrease the geographic scope of a campaign), the platform automatically adjusts the projected number of winnable impressions.
Review the suggestions
Click the Show list link to display the suggested creative durations. Each suggestion has four pieces of information.
- Duration: the spot length (e.g. 31-60 seconds).
- Spot type: how the spot behaves in the listening experience (e.g. standard, extended, long form, host-read, etc.)
- Impact: the projected number of new impressions that could be won by adding this spot length to the tactic.
- Location: where the impressions could be served (e.g. streaming, mobile, desktop, etc.).

Open the library
Each suggestion in the list has a link to the library. Use this link to quickly find a creative that matches the suggested duration.
- Hover the mouse on a tile.
- Click the Find in library link.

Add or upload a creative
The Library page displays a list of pre-sorted assets (based on the spot length in the insights list). Click the three-dot icon to add a creative to the tactic or upload a new file to the library.

Troubleshooting
- If the Creatives tab does not display a bar graph, the campaign may not be live or the tactic may not contain audio creatives. Activate the campaign and confirm that the tactic includes at least one audio creative.
- If the Show list link does not appear, there may be no missed auction opportunities based on the current creative mix.
FAQs
Can marketers see insights for paused campaigns?
No. illumin Audio Insights is available only for live campaigns on the Canvas (new experience) with tactics that include audio creatives.
Does adding a suggested spot length guarantee more impressions?
No. The projections are based on forecasted winning bids. Adding spot lengths can expand auction access, but auction wins and performance are not guaranteed.
Why do the projected impressions change over time?
Projected winnable impressions adjust automatically when creative mix, targeting settings, or remaining flight time changes.
