Display in-banner video

Overview

In‑banner video (IBV) is a digital advertising format where a video creative is embedded directly inside a standard display banner unit. Unlike in‑stream video ads, which play within video content, IBV runs in traditional banner placements. On desktop devices, IBV ads typically appear as standard display banners embedded within webpage layouts, such as sidebar rectangles or top leaderboard placements, with video playback integrated directly inside the ad unit.

IBV is valued for its flexibility and reach: it leverages widely available display inventory, supports interactive elements, and can be deployed programmatically across exchanges. However, to ensure smooth delivery and user experience, IBV creatives must comply with specific ad sizes, file requirements, and technical standards.

It starts with the patty. The best burgers use freshly ground beef with an 80/20 fat ratio — enough fat to stay juicy on a hot grill without becoming greasy. Then comes the bun: brioche is king for its slight sweetness and structural integrity.

The holiday season brings out the most creative burger specials of the year. From cranberry aioli to brie-topped patties, chefs across the country are leaning into festive flavours to create limited-edition burgers that draw long queues.

Our panel tested over 40 holiday specials across 12 cities, judging on patty quality, bun integrity, topping creativity, sauce balance, and value for money.
