Tour the Canvas


Overview

The Canvas is where all the elements of a journey, like audiences, creatives, and tactics, come together into an easy-to-use drag-and-drop platform. Its power lies in the all-in-one canvas, which helps marketers create and customize campaigns within a single environment.

Start here. This quick, self-guided tour walks you through the layout, key controls, and core workflows so you can build, edit, and optimize campaigns with confidence.

Top menu bar

  1. Back button. Exit the canvas and return to the All Journeys page.
  2. Campaign name. Hover the field and click the pencil icon to change the name.
  3. Status. Displays the current status of the journey: Draft, Published, Cancelled, or Paused. Click the status to get a snapshot of campaign details (i.e. Duration, Advertiser, Budget, 3rd party fees, and Measurement). 
  4. Bid Optimization: Opens the Bid Optimization page. Use these settings to enable one of three control types: dynamic, fixed, or click-through rate (CTR) control. Select dynamic or fixed to optimize for specific creatives and exchanges.
  5. Budget Management: Click to review and edit flight ranges, budget, pacing, and the Unspent Budget Delivery setting.
  6. Journey Settings: Click to review or update settings related to billing, Open Web trackers, Open Web and DOOH targeting, and DV Vervity or Adsquare measurements.

Top right corner

  1. Info: Click the icon to open the menu.
  2. Canvas shortcuts: Click to open a list of View Controls (e.g. double click the canvas to zoom in) and Canvas Controls (e.g. use the left or right arrows to move horizontally across canvas).
  3. Canvas Support Center: Click to open the illumin knowledge base.

 

  1. More: Click to display a menu of options.
  2. Change history: Open the change log page.
  3. Export: Download a JPG image of the canvas (great for presentations or emails).
  4. Delete: Remove the campaign altogether.

Bottom of canvas 

  1. Open Web: Drag onto the canvas to launch a new Open Web campaign.
  2. DOOH: Drag onto the canvas to create a Digital Out-of-Home campaign.
  3. Test and measure: Click the flask icon to access tools for configuring an Audience holdout experiment or setting up a Brand lift measurement study.
  4. Paths to Conversion: Click the lightbulb icon to view the Paths to Conversion report, which reveals how audiences engage and convert across touchpoints.
  5. Zoom Controls: Use these tools to adjust the zoom level of the canvas.
  6. Reset: Click to return the zoom level to 100%.
  7. Fit to Screen: Automatically resizes the view so all campaign blocks are visible at once.
  8. Auto‑Layout (Vertical): Organizes and scales the view to display all campaign blocks in a single vertical row.
