While building or editing a path on Journey Canvas, you'll likely encounter the Pacing field when setting the flight range. This article explains the Pacing feature and how to choose the best option for your campaign.
Accessing the Pacing field
You access this field on the path settings panel. Open a campaign on Journey Canvas, locate a path, and click the pencil icon. The path settings panel displays.
Go to the Budget & Scheduling heading and click Edit. Locate a flight range and click the pencil icon.
Choosing an option
Click the field, select a Pacing option, and click Save. There are two choices.
- Even pace: illumin calculates the average daily ad spend by dividing the unspent flight budget by the number of remaining days in the flight.
- Catch up if needed: If you notice the average daily ad spend is less than projected, this option pushes the illumin algorithm to spend the remaining budget at an uneven pace for the balance of the flight. This helps to ensure the full budget is spent by the end do the flight.
