Upload an audio creative


 

Learn how to upload audio files (single or bulk) to the illumin Library. Review the detailed spec table and learn about acceptable audio formats for Open RTB and Spotify.

Steps to open the Creatives page

  1. Log in to illumin.
  2. Go to the top menu bar.
  3. Select Library > Creatives.
  4. Click the Add Creative button.
  5. Select Single Upload or Bulk Upload.

If you select single, a side panel displays. If you select bulk, a new page displays.

Steps to upload a single file

Select the Audio menu option. The screen prompts you to upload your file.

  1. Click the Select file button. A new form displays.
  2. Create a new folder (recommended).
  3. Upload your file.
  4. Fill in the other fields (optional).
  5. Click the Add button. illumin adds a row to the Creatives table.

Steps to bulk upload audio files

The bulk import workflow is similar to the above steps.  

To associate the same pixel with multiple files, use a shortcut. Paste the code into the field and click the Replace button. illumin auto-fills the Impression Pixel fields with the same code. Use the same shortcut to auto-fill other fields (e.g. Language).

When complete, click the upload button in the bottom corner of the page. illumin uploads the files to the Creatives table. 

Steps to manage audio creatives

Go to the Creatives table and expand the folder. There is one row for each file. To review or edit file settings, go to the row and click the pencil icon.

MP3, WMA or OGG format

Advertiser name

Not required.

No more than 25 characters.

Duration

15 s, 30 s, 90 s. 15 s and 30 s recommended.

30 s or less. We recommend no more than 65 words for a 30-second ad. Long-form audio ads are offered in select markets for Direct IO & Programmatic Guaranteed campaigns, and can be up to 60 s in duration. Recommended script length is 100 words for a 60 s ad.

File size

150 MB Max

50MB for Ads Manager, Direct IO, and programmatic, and private marketplace.

Bit rate

160 kbps. Hosted MP3 files must have a constant bitrate.

192kbps. Sample rate 44.1kHz. Overall loudness: -16 LUFS (+/- 1.5 LUFS). TPL is less than or equal to -2.0 dB.

1x1 pixels, and click trackers accepted.

1x1 pixels, and click trackers accepted. VAST 2.0 tags accepted. VAST 2.0: All elements within VAST must make secure calls via https. Must not entail: JavaScript, VPAID, Survey tags/DMP pixels. Spotify Ads Manager allows third-party tracking via DCM impression tags.

Companion banner

Companion banner is optional. Dimensions: 300x250 (Recommended), 728x90 and 320x50 mobile apps only. File type: GIF, JPEG or PNG, HTML, Rich Media. Spotify: 300x250 Static JPEG.

Aspect Ratio: 1x1. Dimensions: 640x640. File type: JPEG, PNG. **Logo specs are for Ads manager and Direct IO only.

All tags, pixels & libraries must be secure (https) or protocol agnostic. Failure to provide secure or protocol agnostic tags, pixels & libraries may result in delivery issues.
