Learn how to set a different time zone for a campaign on the Canvas (new experience) when a delivery schedule must match a specific region. Change the time zone, update daypart settings, and align the campaign with the hours that matter to the audience.
By default, the platform applies the journey-level setting. To apply a different time zone to a campaign:
Use a custom time zone when your campaign targets regions with different peak activity hours. For example, you may run a CTV campaign that shows video ads in the United States between 7 pm and 11 pm. The Eastern time zone covers New York and the surrounding region, but those same hours occur later on the West Coast.
To reach viewers in California, Washington, Nevada, and nearby areas at the correct time of day, create a second campaign. Set its time zone to Pacific Time and apply Geographic targeting that allows delivery in the required states.
illumin applies the journey-level time zone to each campaign by default. Marketers can override this value at the campaign level when delivery hours must align with a different region. This control ensures daypart rules and pacing reflect the correct local time for ad delivery.
A marketer should change the campaign time zone when ads deliver at incorrect hours or when a campaign targets a region outside the journey time zone. This adjustment keeps daypart schedules accurate and prevents impressions from serving during off-hours.
Campaign time zone settings appear in the Budget & goals tab on the new Canvas. Marketers scroll to the Timezone section at the top of the canvas to review or change the current configuration.
A marketer overrides the journey time zone by switching off the Use journey settings toggle in the campaign Timezone section. The platform then allows selection of a custom time zone that applies only to that campaign.
Daypart schedules rely on the campaign time zone. If the campaign uses an incorrect time zone, delivery occurs at unexpected hours even when daypart rules appear correct. A time zone review often resolves this issue.
